McKay’s 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD

This first build is McKay’s 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD. All the work was done my McKay and Quinn in the driveway. The vehicle has seen usage at Rausch Creek and Assateague Island, and will be the only non-Jeep vehicle on our cross country venture to Alaska in 2018.

When he first purchased the vehicle, a Ready-Lift leveling kit was installed with the Nitto tires on the OEM wheels which have been Plasti-dipped. After installing the Buschwacker flares, he quickly realized that the wheels needed to fit in the arches better. A set of B.O.R.A. 1.5″ hubcentric wheel spacers were installed. The next three upgrades were N-Fab side steps and front light bar along with the Hella 4000 lights. After driving around for a couple months in this state, the camping bug hit and a cap was added to the rear. The ARE Z-series cap was installed with a Yakima Mega Warrior on top. A TRD dual exhaust and K&N intake provided a little extra power, and some phenomenal noises.

In this state the vehicle was take off road a couple times at Rausch Creek and proved to be quite capable, but a little more articulation and a better ride were on the wish list. The Old Man Emu suspension was installed with the Total Chaos upper control arms and the Coachbuilder shackles and tie-rod ends. This changed the ride greatly and increased the ground clearance.  The White Knuckle Off Road sliders replaced the N-Fab steps to provide some real under body protection. Finally a CVT RTT was installed for those trips to Assateague. No more sleeping in the bed! The CVT was really purchased for a new trailer that we will be taking a look at soon. If you have any questions about this build, please let us know.

The current spec sheet is as follows:
